Poker Profiles: William Edler

Poker champ William "Bill" Edler is from Evanston, Illinois. he was born on February 11, 1964. He keeps a Law degree from the University of California-Berkeley but he is better known in the Poker world since he made a mark in 2007.

At the 2007 World Series of Poker, Bill took home a bracelet-worthy win at the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em event. He followed that up with a triumph at the heads-up championship, which was held in Compton, California. Bill has been downright successful at joining the World Poker Tour as well. He was able to cash in several times and made numerous final table appearances in this one prestigious battle for greatness.

His first WPT title was also won in 2007, which seems like his lucky year, at the Golf Coast Poker Championship. Bill added an extra $333,490 to his 2007 earnings when he landed on the 23rd place of the $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event Championship. So far, that was Bill's best performance on the said event.

With all those achievements, Bill remains a little known Poker professional. Yes, he did made successful finishes, he cashed in several times as well, and his bank account is beefed up with Poker winnings but he still run short of taking a real spotlight for his skills. A Poker onlooker once commented that Bill almost always finishes close to the TV bubble and he was right.

Bill made all the efforts to make final table finishes at almost every time he enters a tournament. However, when it is down to the final six, he suddenly goes out of the picture. Bill's longest TV appearance was during an Ultimate Poker Challenge late night show. He came out on it top twice.

Bill was previously too involved at cash games. Now that he has turned his attention in playing tournaments, fans and fellow players alike can expect full steam ahead. He is currently enjoying the fact that tournament games are dynamic. He is able to improve his skills to a higher scale since almost every time, he comes up with a great player.

While cash games are all about the money, tournament games are all about greatness. Now that he already has an impressive bank account in store, Bill can enjoy reaping titles next. And the Poker world can only watch in awe as another skilled player makes his way to the mainstream. Some people may comment that it is kind of late for Bill but the Poker pro thinks otherwise. He knows that the best time to win a title is when your skills are enough to support you at the final table.
